EAST NORTHPORT, NY:  MARCH 5. 2016 —  The Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association will host a first of its kind interactive dinner meeting, keynoted by MICHAEL KIMMEL, PhD,  Founder and Director of the Center for Men and Masculine Studies, Author, Lecturer, Distinguished Professor of Sociology Stony Brook University, discussing changing the paradigm for work and family. The event will be held on April 5th at 5:30 pm (Keynote @ 6:30) at The Larkfield in East Northport, NY. After Kimmel’s keynote, a panel of thought-leaders will engage with him and the audience, discussing where we are now in the Long Island workplace and ways to improve the direction for every worker. Panelists include the Hon. A. Gail Prudenti, Hofstra University and the former Chief Administrative Judge of the Courts of the State of NY, Jacqueline Flug, President-Elect, Women’s Bar of the State of NY, Katherine Heaviside, President, Epoch 5 Marketing, and Moderator Domenique Comacho Moran, Partner, Farrell Fritz.

The evening will be a dynamic one with guests from the legal, municipal, judicial, media and the general public engaging with the panel and the Keynote speaker.

With over 30 years of dedication to advancing the status and achievements of women in law, President Melissa Negrin-Wiener and her Committee chaired by Val Manzo, Nancy Burner and Kim Smith, invite the public to bring views and ideas to the table for this groundbreaking event. “We have spent more than a generation making inroads for women in the law. Now we turn to work/life issues that affect all of us: men and women, young and old, rich and poor…how can we devote ourselves to both work and family in ways that advance excellence in both?” said President Melissa Negrin-Wiener. A. Gail Prudenti, (Hofstra University), Hon. Sandra Sgroi, (NYS Appellate Division Justice), Hon. Marion Mc Nulty, (Ret.), Hon. Mary Werner, (Ret.) and Hon. Madeleine Fitzgibbon (Ret.) went on to leadership roles within the judicial system.
